Free QR code asset labels
Paste your asset tags, pick a label size and print a sheet of QR labels, save it as a PDF or download it as a PNG. Free, no signup, and your list never leaves your browser.
In brief: Give every asset a short, unique tag (for example LAP-0142), put that tag in the QR code and print it beside the asset's name. A phone camera then identifies the asset in a second, which is what makes a stock count a walk around the building instead of a spreadsheet exercise.
1. Your assets
One asset per line: the tag, a comma, then the name. Paste from a spreadsheet or open a CSV file. The list stays in your browser.
2. Label options
3. Print or download
5 labels on 1 A4 sheet.
In the print dialog choose A4, scale 100% (not "fit to page") and no margins, then print one sheet on plain paper and hold it against your label sheet before using labels.
QR asset labels: common questions
Is the QR label generator really free?
Yes. There is no signup, no watermark and no limit beyond 1,000 labels at a time. The codes are made in your browser, so your asset list is never uploaded.
What should the QR code contain?
The asset tag on its own is the safest choice: it is short, so the code stays small and easy to scan, and any scanner or asset system can look it up. Add the name only if people will read the code without a system behind it. You can also put text before the tag, such as the start of a web address.
Which label sheets does it print on?
A4 sheets in three common layouts: 8 labels of 99.1 × 67.7 mm, 21 labels of 63.5 × 38.1 mm and 65 labels of 38.1 × 21.2 mm. Print at 100% scale with no margins, and test one page on plain paper against your label sheet first.
Can I save the labels as a PDF?
Yes. Press Print or save as PDF and choose Save as PDF in your browser's print dialog. You can also download each A4 sheet as a PNG image.
Can phones scan these labels?
Yes. They are standard QR codes with medium error correction, readable by any phone camera. For small labels keep the content short, and use matt labels where glare is a problem.
Do these labels work with Wurxa Assets?
Yes, when the QR code holds the asset tag on its own. Wurxa's own labels encode the tag the same way, so after you add the assets with the same tags, a stock audit in Wurxa reads these labels from any phone.
Track them in Wurxa Assets, free for 100 assets.
Wurxa Assets keeps the register behind the labels: who holds each item, its custody history, warranty and lease dates, and stock audits you run by scanning these codes with a phone. It prints its own labels too.
Free for up to 100 assets with unlimited users. No card, no trial countdown.
