Payroll that posts to Zoho Books. As a draft your accountant approves.
Run the month in Wurxa: salaries, overtime from real attendance, deductions and the WPS file. Once the month is approved and locked, the salary journal goes to Zoho Books as a draft, already split by account and balanced.
The 14-day trial includes Payroll. No credit card.

The short answer
Wurxa Payroll connects to Zoho Books (in Beta). The workspace owner or an IT admin connects once, picks the Zoho Books organisation and gives each pay item an account. After that, each locked pay run is sent to Zoho Books, with one click or automatically, as one draft manual journal with the reference WX-PAY, the year and the month, balanced and ready for the accountant to review and publish. Without a connection, the same journal downloads as a CSV. Wurxa never publishes journals and never reads invoices or bank data.
Beta: the Zoho Books connection is new. If a journal looks wrong or a step does not work, tell us through Ask Rafiq in the app and we will look into it.
Your books are in Zoho. Your payroll can be in Wurxa.
Four steps, and the first three happen once.
Connect, as the owner or an IT admin
From Payroll, open the Zoho Books tile and sign in with the Zoho login that sees your books. You approve limited access: reading your Zoho Books settings and Accountant area, where the chart of accounts is, and creating journals. No access to invoices, bills or banking.
Pick the organisation
One organisation in your Zoho login is chosen for you. With several, choose the company this payroll belongs to.
Give every pay item an account, once
Basic salary, allowances, overtime, gratuity, unpaid leave, loan recovery, net pay owed: each gets an account from your chart. Ask your accountant which ones. Items on the same account are added into one line.
Lock the month, and the journal arrives as a draft
Once the owner has approved a pay run and it is locked, send it with one click, or switch on automatic sending. It lands in Zoho Books as a draft manual journal, and your accountant reviews and publishes it there.

The journal as a CSV
Every locked run also offers Download journal CSV, with or without a connection. It has the journal date, the WX-PAY reference, notes, the account, and the debit and credit amounts, ready for your accountant to import into Zoho Books by hand.
Handy while you are still deciding about the connection, or if your accountant prefers to import each month themselves.
What Wurxa never does in Zoho Books
Works with the UAE data centre, and the others
Sign in at books.zoho.ae? Choose UAE when you connect. Wurxa also works with Zoho accounts in Saudi Arabia, India, Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Japan, Canada and Singapore, or you can let Zoho find your account for you.
How Wurxa handles payroll data is set out in our privacy policy.
The connection is the last step. Payroll comes first.
Salary by component, pro-rata for joiners and leavers, overtime from attendance, loans, final settlements, payslips on the phone and the WPS file. See Wurxa Payroll
Zoho Books and Wurxa: common questions
Does Wurxa connect to Zoho Books?
Yes, in Beta. Wurxa Payroll sends each locked pay run to Zoho Books as one draft manual journal, using the account you chose for each pay item. Your accountant reviews it and publishes it in Zoho Books.
Will Wurxa publish journals or change my books?
No. Every journal arrives as a draft. Wurxa does not publish, edit or delete anything in Zoho Books, and it does not read your invoices, bills or bank transactions. It reads your organisation details and chart of accounts so you can choose accounts, and it creates journals.
Who can connect Zoho Books?
The workspace owner, or an IT admin with access to Payroll. The person connecting signs in with a Zoho login that can see the company's books.
Does it work with a Zoho account in the UAE data centre?
Yes. Choose UAE when you connect if you sign in to Zoho at zoho.ae. Accounts in the other Zoho data centres work too, including Saudi Arabia, India, Europe and the United States.
How do I find the payroll journal in Zoho Books?
Look for its reference among your journals in Zoho Books. The reference is WX-PAY followed by the year and month, for example WX-PAY-2026-10 for October 2026. The journal carries the pay period's end date, and its notes name the month and the number of employees.
What if a month is reopened after it was sent?
The draft already in Zoho Books stays there, because Wurxa never deletes anything in your books. Delete that draft in Zoho Books, then lock the corrected run in Wurxa and send it again.
Can I use it without connecting?
Yes. Every locked run has Download journal CSV, with the date, reference, notes, account, debit and credit, for your accountant to import into Zoho Books by hand.
Does Wurxa pay the salaries?
No. Wurxa calculates the month, produces the WPS SIF file for your bank or exchange house, and sends the journal to Zoho Books. The money moves through your own bank.
Does Wurxa connect to QuickBooks, Xero or Tally?
Not today. Zoho Books is the one accounting connection. For other systems, the salary register downloads as an Excel file your accountant can work from.
Is Wurxa part of Zoho?
No. Wurxa is a separate product made by a separate company. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Zoho Corporation; it connects to Zoho Books through the access you approve.
